Defence, oak 47 x 49.4 x 9.4cm. Carved from a section of the tree that fell next to my studio in a storm, cutting through the heart of the trunk to reveal the complex twists of the grain. Thinking about home and security during the Covid19 pandemic.

Staircation, oak 71.5 x 48 x 12cm. As a child I made my imaginative world under tables, on stairs and in the patterns of curtains and carpets; I carved this from a single section of the storm felled tree.
night sailing, oak. Inspired by a tiny amulet in a museum, it was worn around the neck of a sailor and used in the dark as a map to feel their way.
